Background and Education
I graduated from the University of Oslo and have worked with adults, adolescents, and families in both specialized healthcare services and the private sector. I have a particular interest in couples therapy and extensive experience working with couples facing challenges. Currently, I am specializing in clinical adult psychology and have broad experience in assessment and treatment within this field.
In the Therapy Room
I am a warm therapist with a fundamental belief in the importance of emotions and that you are the expert on your own experiences and needs. My approach is to create a safe space as a foundation for exploring and navigating the changes you want to achieve—changes that are not always easy to accomplish on your own. I believe it is a strength to start therapy early, even if the problem is not yet fully defined. I will meet you with curiosity, honesty, and a balance between supporting and challenging you, while tailoring the therapeutic approach to your individual needs.
Method
I draw from various therapeutic approaches and adapt them to what suits you best. I consider myself a humanistic therapist, which means I have a deep respect for your boundaries, needs, and role in the therapy process. Emotion-focused therapy is a method I use frequently. It places emotions at the center, focusing on understanding and processing difficult, complex, or entrenched feelings and patterns. Additionally, I have significant experience with cognitive therapy and mentalization-based therapy.
