Background and Education
I am trained as a psychologist at Universidad Europea de Madrid. I have experience from specialist mental health services, where I have worked with people of different ages and life situations, both in individual therapy and in work with families. I also have experience with digital therapy. In addition, I have training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for the treatment of trauma.
In the Therapy Room
For me, it is important to create a safe and trusting space where you can be open about what feels difficult. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where we work together to explore what matters to you, what goals you have, and what you would like help with.
In therapy, we often work to understand the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and to identify patterns that can be difficult to change on your own. I can also provide psychoeducation, as well as practical tools and exercises that may be helpful in everyday life.
At the same time, I find it important to explore your values, needs, and what gives your life meaning. Sometimes therapy may be more practical and solution-focused, while at other times it may be more exploratory and in-depth, depending on what you need.
Methodology
I have a flexible approach to therapy and aim to tailor the treatment to your needs and goals. In my work, I draw on several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Metacognitive Therapy, and elements from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also use mindfulness-based approaches, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. In working with trauma, I have training in EMDR.
